Tyler Hancock

Tyler Hancock is an American poker player and entrepreneur based in Scottsdale, Arizona, best known as the founder and CEO of StakeKings, a platform that lets poker fans and investors buy shares of players’ tournament action. His career combines poker experience with a strong background in poker-related business ventures.

Before launching StakeKings, Hancock ran PokerBrokers, a service connecting professional poker players with financial backers. His experience buying and selling poker action - including the difficulties of informal staking arrangements - inspired the platform, which launched in 2015 through a collaboration with Scott Silvi and Justin Knutson, who merged their respective poker-staking projects.

Hancock has played both live and online poker and has been described as a former professional. He was also an early adopter of poker streaming, broadcasting games on Twitch as early as 2014 while selling shares of his action to viewers. Though he still appears in cash games, including on Hustler Casino Live, running StakeKings is now his primary professional focus.

Beyond StakeKings, Hancock has expanded into fantasy sports through partnerships and acquisitions, including RotoGrinders and TeamStake. He is also involved in "AZ Poker Lab", an Arizona-based poker community focused on training and connecting players. Outside his business activities, he is a family man who has spoken publicly about balancing poker, entrepreneurship, and raising two children.
