Stanley Tang

Wei Rui Stanley Tang is a Hong Kong-raised American entrepreneur and high-stakes recreational poker player, best known for co-founding DoorDash. Born in Japan in 1992 and raised in Hong Kong, he moved to the United States to study computer science at Stanford University. While still a student, he co-founded DoorDash in 2013, helping grow a small campus delivery experiment into one of America's largest food delivery platforms.

Before launching DoorDash, Tang worked as a software engineer at Facebook. He later served as DoorDash’s Chief Product Officer and went on to lead DoorDash Labs, the company’s robotics and automation division. He also co-founded Bearcat Content, an investment and production venture involved in documentaries such as "Liquor Store Dreams" and "This Is Not Financial Advice".

Tang’s entrepreneurial drive emerged well before DoorDash. At 16, he published eMillions, a book of interviews with successful internet entrepreneurs. Beyond business and poker, he has described himself as a pilot, performed magic tricks on occasion, and supported independent filmmaking. His Napa Valley wedding celebration even included a poker-themed lounge.

Despite his success in Silicon Valley, Tang has remained interested in poker. In DoorDash’s early years, he reportedly hosted monthly poker nights for colleagues and friends. He later appeared in televised high-stakes cash games on Hustler Casino Live and PokerGO’s High Stakes Poker. Unlike many of his opponents, Tang is a technology entrepreneur, not a full-time poker professional, bringing a Silicon Valley perspective to some of poker’s most prominent livestream tables.
