Randy Lew

Randy Lew, better known by his online poker nickname “nanonoko", is an American professional poker player and commentator, as well as a former competitive gamer from Sacramento, California. He graduated from the University of California, Davis, with a degree in managerial economics. Before turning to poker, Lew competed in fighting games such as Marvel vs. Capcom 2, where he honed the quick decision-making skills he later applied to online poker.

Lew became one of online poker’s most recognizable figures by playing numerous tables at once. A six-max no-limit hold'em specialist, he built his reputation on PokerStars, joining the original Team Online in 2009 and serving as an ambassador until 2019. He says his screen name, "nanonoko," was inspired by Japanese wordplay meaning "nano kid."

Beyond poker, Lew pursued esports, joining the professional gaming organization “Team Liquid” as an “Hearthstone” player in 2016. He also created educational poker content, streamed on Twitch, and shared strategy advice through PokerStars training videos. In 2020, Americas Cardroom hired him as a security consultant and gameplay expert to help investigate bots, collusion, and other suspicious activity.

Lew has also become a familiar poker broadcaster, known for his commentary on Triton Poker. Away from the tables, he has shared stories about keeping his poker career hidden from his parents for about a decade and proposing to fellow poker professional Celina Lin during an elaborate beach treasure hunt in New Zealand. His path from competitive gaming to online poker and broadcasting has made him a distinctive figure in the poker community.
