Phil Nagy

Phillip Nagy is an American poker executive and recreational high-stakes player, best known for serving as CEO of Winning Poker Network and Americas Cardroom (ACR Poker). Based in Costa Rica, he has been a prominent figure in online poker for over a decade. In late 2010, he took over the Yatahay Network and oversaw its rebranding as Winning Poker Network in 2012.

Alongside running a major online poker business, Nagy participates in both live and online games. He plays online as "Justsomefish72" and created the Phil’s Thrill tournaments to compete directly with players on his platform. In 2022, he partnered with professional poker player Ebony Kenney in the Triton Coin Rivet Invitational, further strengthening his presence in the high-stakes poker community.

Nagy is also known for his unconventional management philosophy and outspoken views on the poker industry. After reading "The Agile Samurai", he adopted Agile principles to strengthen teamwork and reduce micromanagement at his company. In 2020, he launched the #Good4Poker initiative, encouraging competing poker operators to work together to grow the game and protect players.

Outside business, Nagy enjoys hosting private, rake-free poker games for guests, including well-known poker personalities, and providing food and drinks. He has also spoken publicly about his fitness transformation, reducing his weight from over 150 kg to approximately 90 kg, and his ambition to compete in a triathlon. His blend of business leadership, high-stakes poker play, and outspoken personality has made him a recognizable figure in the poker community.
