Martin Kabrhel

Martin Kabrhel is a Czech poker player and entrepreneur with a professional-poker background, although he describes his business interests as his main focus. A graduate in theoretical mathematics from Charles University’s Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Kabrhel founded Ematiq, a business applying statistical models and technology to algorithmic trading and prediction markets. His approach emphasizes the quality of a decision rather than its immediate outcome; he argues that making money doesn’t necessarily mean the best decision was made.

His interests also extend into competitive gaming. In January 2020, Kabrhel founded the Czech esports organization Entropiq, with professional data analysis intended to help support its players through the organization’s connection with Ematiq.

Beyond his appearances at the table, Kabrhel publishes poker-trip vlogs and behind-the-scenes videos on his own YouTube channel. His table persona also carries into his official merchandise, which features the catchphrase “Not Like That!” alongside his distinctive hippo branding.
