Jeremy Wayne Ausmus

Jeremy Ausmus is a professional poker player from Lamar, Colorado, who has lived in Las Vegas since 2005. Before turning to poker full-time, he earned an economics degree from Colorado State University and worked in woodworking and cabinetmaking. His interest in professional poker grew during college, partly after he and his roommate repeatedly watched the movie "Rounders".

Ausmus began his career playing online cash games on platforms such as DoylesRoom, Full Tilt Poker, and PokerStars. He has played under the screen names "TheTaker" and "ChipChecka." After years of online play, he shifted toward live poker following Black Friday in 2011, establishing himself on the live circuit while drawing on his online experience.

Away from the tables, Ausmus plays guitar and piano, with musical influences ranging from Metallica and Slayer to classical composer Frédéric Chopin. He has written and performed humorous poker-themed songs, including "Pocket Jacks" and "Hey, Mighty Poker Gods," and contributed vocals to the poker music project "Check Raise Revolution". A husband and father of two, he has spoken openly about balancing professional poker with family life.

In November 2025, Ausmus expanded into content creation with his YouTube vlog "All-In with Ausmus", offering behind-the-scenes perspectives on high-stakes poker and its personalities. He also shares his expertise through poker training videos for Run It Once and private coaching through Octopi Poker. His experience in professional play, coaching, music, and content creation has made him a recognizable figure in the poker community.
