Jan-Peter Jachtmann

Jan-Peter Jachtmann, known as “Mr. Omaha,” “JPJ,” and “Hamburger Jung,” is a German poker player and entrepreneur from Hamburg. A longtime presence in the European poker scene, he is especially associated with Pot-Limit Omaha (PLO) cash games. His appearances on German High Roller and Ca$h King$ have made him a familiar face in televised and livestreamed poker.

Jachtmann's poker career began well before the online poker boom. While studying in the early 1990s, he trained as a casino dealer at Spielbank Hamburg, dealing roulette, blackjack, and poker. He later moved to the other side of the table, building a career that combined poker with marketing, events, and publishing. He helped develop the German poker magazine PokerBlatt and served as its editor-in-chief until 2015.

Outside poker, Jachtmann works in marketing and entertainment production. He runs JPJ Filmproductions, which produced the German comedy miniseries Littis Fahrschule, starring actor Kida Khodr Ramadan. He also co-produced the film Hijamat, appearing in it as a doctor. His business activities also include sponsorships and event organization.

Although best known for his live PLO expertise, Jachtmann has represented major poker brands. He joined partypoker as a sponsored professional in 2016 and became a King's Resort ambassador in 2025, helping promote Omaha events. Away from poker, he enjoys American football, particularly the Las Vegas Raiders, and has spoken about his passion for sports cars. His experience in casino work, poker media, entrepreneurship, and film production makes him a versatile figure on the European poker circuit.
