Henrik Hecklen

Henrik Hecklen is a Danish professional poker player from Hjørring who has made poker his livelihood since his late teens. He began playing for small stakes while studying at commercial school and has said that by age 18 he was already supporting himself through the game. His online background is substantial, with “hhecklen” verified as his PokerStars screen name.

Before becoming established in poker, Hecklen also competed in Counter-Strike under the alias “walth,” including time with the Danish team SharkGaming. That esports background adds an unusual competitive-gaming chapter to his career and helps explain the analytical mindset he later brought to poker.

Hecklen developed from an online cash-game specialist into a prominent live high-stakes player, including regular appearances in major Macau cash games and streamed Triton lineups. Danish poker media have also referred to him as “Facitlisten,” roughly meaning “the answer key,” a nickname that reflects his reputation for technical knowledge and strong strategic understanding.

Away from the table, Hecklen has spoken about an interest in science fiction and big philosophical questions, naming Interstellar, Arrival, and The Matrix among his favourite films. Earlier in his career, he said he would watch material about the universe after difficult poker sessions as a way of putting short-term setbacks into perspective.
