Ethan Yau

Ethan “Rampage” Yau is a Boston-area poker player and content creator who built an audience by documenting the journey from relative inexperience to full-time professional poker. A UMass Amherst graduate in Business Management, Yau worked in sales and later at a baseball-focused startup before choosing to pursue poker and YouTube full time.

Rampage began playing poker in college around 2018, inspired in part by vloggers such as Brad Owen, Andrew Neeme, and Johnny Vibes. Notably, he filmed his third-ever poker session, later explaining that he wanted viewers to critique his decisions because he didn’t yet have an experienced poker circle. That openness became a defining feature of his channel, where he regularly shows mistakes and losing sessions rather than only highlights.

Before poker, Yau had already made gaming videos, which helped him quickly grow Rampage Poker into one of the larger poker-focused YouTube channels. His career has since expanded beyond vlogging into professional poker, livestream appearances, sponsorships, and online play; verified screen names include “RampageP” on WSOP.com and “rampunts” on WPT Global. He has also worked as a WPT-affiliated ambassador and collaborated with poker training platforms.

Yau has increasingly moved into the business side of poker as well. In 2025, he joined the ownership group of The Lodge Card Club in Texas as a minority investor. His path - from business graduate and startup employee to poker creator, professional player, brand ambassador, and poker-room investor - has made Rampage one of the more recognizable examples of the modern player whose career blends poker, media, and entrepreneurship.
