Elton Tsang

Ka Wai Elton Tsang is a Hong Kong-based poker player and entrepreneur who was born and raised in Vancouver, Canada. He studied business at the University of British Columbia and began playing online poker on partypoker around 2001 while at university. He later became a full-time cash-game player in Hong Kong and Macau before shifting more attention toward business.

Tsang helped organize APPT Macau, bringing together Grand Waldo Casino, tournament director Matt Savage, and PokerStars. He has described investing approximately HK$1 million - essentially all the savings he had accumulated during university - into the project, making poker-event organizing his first entrepreneurial venture.

His involvement in poker also extends to entertainment production. In September 2026, Tsang discussed "Deepstack", a cash-game show he founded and was developing with managing director Jelle Moene. The project aims to combine cinematic, episodic storytelling with an action-focused poker format called BLUVV, which Tsang says he invented.

Away from the tables, Tsang authored "The Game of Life", a book about choosing love over fear, available free through his "Welcome to Hotel Earth" website in English, Simplified Chinese, and Traditional Chinese. He describes a ten-day silent meditation retreat as an important personal experience and connects his outlook on life with a lesson from poker: commit fully to your decisions while accepting that you cannot control the outcome.
