Bruce Anthony Buffer

Bruce Buffer is an American sports announcer, entrepreneur, and poker enthusiast, best known as the “Veteran Voice of the Octagon” for the UFC. Since 1996, he has grown into one of combat sports’ most recognizable personalities, famed for his energetic fighter introductions and signature catchphrase, “It’s time!” He is also the half-brother and business partner of legendary boxing announcer Michael Buffer.

Buffer's passion for poker began in childhood, when his father introduced him to the game. He was playing cash games by age 14 and developed an interest in a variety of poker formats, including seven-card stud and Texas Hold'em. Over the years, he has appeared on televised and livestreamed poker shows such as Hustler Casino Live and Poker After Dark, and has played in celebrity poker circles alongside Hollywood stars like Tobey Maguire and Leonardo DiCaprio.

Beyond the table, Buffer has maintained close ties to the poker industry. He was previously affiliated with Full Tilt Poker and became a PokerStars ambassador in 2019. The Luxor casino in Las Vegas even operated a poker room bearing his name. Although poker is not his primary profession, Buffer has described it as an important competitive outlet that combines his love of strategy, psychology, and high-pressure situations.

Outside poker and the UFC, Buffer is an accomplished businessman, author, and martial artist who holds a black belt in Tang Soo Do. He co-founded the sports-focused platform MILLIONS.co, partnered with Puncher's Chance bourbon, and helped launch an IT'S TIME! sports-card and collectibles business. He also hosts the IT'S TIME podcast and published his memoir, "It's Time! My 360-Degree View of the UFC", in 2013. His distinctive personality and entertainment background make him a recognizable celebrity presence at the poker table.
