Alan Keating

Alan Keating is an American high-stakes cash-game player and angel investor best known for his appearances on major live poker streams. Keating has built a reputation around an unusually loose, aggressive style and a willingness to play highly entertaining poker on camera. He has said that he deliberately opens up his game on livestreams because he views streamed poker as entertainment as well as competition.

Away from the table, Keating is active as a startup investor. He has appeared at the Global Alts investment conference representing VPIP Capital and has said that he was an early investor in prediction-market company Polymarket. Within poker, he has also invested in Phenom Poker and serves as an investor and adviser to Alligator Blood, a poker-focused social platform founded by entrepreneur Josh Luber.

Keating has described his own poker evolution as unusual: he says he began as an extremely tight player before being influenced by an aggressive truck driver nicknamed “Sleepy Mike.” That experience helped shape Keating’s philosophy of creating difficult decisions for opponents rather than simply waiting for premium hands. He has also argued that successful poker broadcasts should emphasize personalities, relationships and conflict instead of focusing exclusively on technical hand analysis.

His interests extend beyond conventional poker. Actor Emile Hirsch played in one of Keating’s private Las Vegas games while preparing for the poker film Dead Money, and Keating has discussed hosting elaborate Ultimate Werewolf social-deduction games in Las Vegas. He also applied to appear on The Traitors. His public profile remains centered on high-stakes cash games, livestream entertainment and his growing involvement in poker-related businesses.
